How it works
Head, neck, shoulders and back
This treatment runs from your scalp down through the neck and shoulder blades into the upper back. That is deliberately one sequence: tension starting in your shoulders almost always travels upward or downward.
Built for screen posture
Hours with your head slightly forward and your shoulders raised. That posture is what brings most people here. The therapist works precisely on the muscles that stay switched on all day in that position.
Scalp and temples included
Many people do not expect it, but the attachments at the base of your skull and around the temples are part of it. That is where people with a tight feeling behind the eyes tend to notice a change first.
Firmer than a relaxation massage
We work with thumb and hand pressure on points that are stuck, not with long stroking movements. That is allowed to feel firm. Sharp pain is not part of it, and you set the limit yourself.
Thirty minutes is enough to start
You do not need to clear an hour. Half an hour is enough to work through neck and shoulders. If you want the upper back included calmly, choose forty-five or sixty minutes.
Can be extended with the feet
There is also a version that includes the feet, running forty-five or sixty minutes. The durations and prices for that are listed on the services page.
Good to know
Which duration suits me?
Thirty minutes goes to neck and shoulders. Forty-five minutes leaves room to include the upper back calmly. Sixty minutes is the full treatment, giving the therapist longer per area to build up.
How often is useful?
If the tension has been there a while, most people notice more from two or three sessions close together than from a single visit. After that, once a month is enough for many people to keep it settled.
When not to book
Not advisable with fever, inflammation or a fresh injury in the neck or shoulder. If you have a cervical hernia, pain radiating into your arm or tingling in your fingers, speak to your doctor first.
Frequently asked
Does this help with headaches?
Many people book it for that and say it makes a difference with headaches linked to tension in the neck and shoulders. We do not diagnose. If your headaches are frequent or severe, have a doctor assess them first.
Can I keep my clothes on?
For this treatment we work on the skin of the neck, shoulders and back, so the upper body is uncovered under a towel. If you would rather stay dressed, choose a chair massage.
What if it sits deeper?
If the same knot keeps returning, a deep tissue massage is probably the better choice. There the therapist works more slowly and with more pressure in the layer beneath.
